Welcome to the Imagi Nation
This art club began with a sunset over the Brooklyn waterfront! For my birthday I invited friends to help me celebrate between two cherry tree blossoms at Marsha P. Johnson State Park while drawing their own version of Marsha’s iconic flower crown. That spontaneous art exercise I made became a joyful tribute and a fun activity that brought us laughter, imagination, and inspiration. Afterward, I began mailing the drawing template to friends who could not make the picnic as invitations to flex their imagination and make something by hand.
Just as your body needs movement, your creative mind thrives on play. I frequently use sketching and doodling on the subway, between meetings, or casually at home to wind down, recalibrate, explore NYC's hidden gems, and stay connected to my imagination. Whether you’re here to make something bold or quiet, surreal or silly, I hope this club gives you space to connect with your imagination, with others, and with NYC!
Can’t wait to see what you make.
